TariffEdge is an autonomous trading system that turns geopolitical and trade-policy signals into executable options trades. It monitors global news through the GDELT 2.0 API, mapping tariff escalations, export bans, and supply-chain disruptions to relevant US-listed tickers — for example, steel tariffs to NUE, semiconductor export controls to SMH, and oil-related tensions to XLE. Every candidate trade passes through a deterministic risk gate before execution: a $500 max-loss cap per trade, a 3-position concentration limit, and spread-integrity validation. Trades that clear the gate are built as defined-risk bull call or bear put debit spreads and submitted as multi-leg orders directly to Alpaca's paper trading API. Every decision — passed or blocked, with full reasoning — is logged to an immutable audit trail. A live dashboard (built on Next.js 16 and React 19) streams incoming signals, open positions, exposure by sector, and the full decision timeline in real time, auto-refreshing every 30 seconds.
