Scientists working in a lab have their hands full: gloves on, pipette in hand, timer running. They cannot stop to type, so experimental details are written down later from memory, when times have been rounded and details have faded. Lab Log solves this by letting scientists document every detail with their voice while they keep working. Lab Log is a voice-native laboratory notebook built on the Assembly AI Voice Agent API. A scientist opens a running experiment, starts a voice session and speaks: registering a sample, recording a temperature or pH reading, noting an observation such as "appears to be clear", and marking each protocol step complete. Lab Log turns speech into structured records linked to the experiment and its protocol. It knows measurement types and units by name, and if no unit is spoken it asks instead of guessing. When the last step is done, the scientist says "mark the experiment as complete" and Lab Log asks for confirmation before closing it.
