Team Idea
DawnCast is a voice agent that speaks your weather briefing every morning at 6 AM — rain chances, temperature, humidity — before you've picked up your phone, automatically escalating into a clear, urgent warning on days with an active flood, cyclone, heatwave, or other disaster nearby. The everyday value is the habit: no apps, no scrolling, just 20 seconds of speech. The safety value is what that habit protects: in flood- and cyclone-prone regions like Bangladesh, the days that matter most are the ones people are least likely to check for a warning — so the alert reaches them unasked. Each morning, a job pulls the forecast from OpenWeatherMap and checks GDACS for active alerts, an LLM turns that into a natural script — calm normally, sharp when there's a real warning — and AssemblyAI's Voice Agent API delivers it as speech. Users can ask follow-up questions by voice too. Built on Node.js/Express with node-cron.
