AegisOR

AegisOR is an ambient operating room audio-compliance platform engineered to streamline operative workflows, prevent surgical errors, and enforce compliance during operation. Before surgery begins, the platform loads specialty-specific surgical presets and primes AssemblyAI speech models with specialized medical lexicons, procedural terminology, and pharmacology references for pinpoint acoustic accuracy. During the critical pre-operative phase, AegisOR continuously captures perioperative audio to automatically verify Universal Protocol time-out checkpoints, ensuring patient identification, surgical site confirmation, procedure details, allergies, and consents are explicitly confirmed prior to the primary incision. Throughout the intra-operative period, the system actively monitors surgical team communication to identify verbal orders, verifying closed-loop read-backs and confirmations to mitigate dangerous breakdowns in high-stress surgical theaters. Upon completion, AegisOR verifies surgical sponge and needle count sign-outs, logs specimen labeling, and synthesizes time-stamped audio events into an initial post-operative report. All compliance data, time-stamps, and safety metrics are compiled into an export-ready audit trail compatible with electronic health record systems.
