Software teams can reach the final stage of a release with scattered risks across build configuration, tests, security, dependencies, documentation, and application integration. Developers may know that something is wrong, but determining whether a project is genuinely ready to release—and understanding exactly what must be fixed first—can require manual inspection across many files and tools. ReleaseGuard is an AI-powered release-readiness assistant designed to answer one practical question: “Is this software project ready to release?” A repository is analyzed across key release-readiness areas including builds, tests, security, configuration, dependencies, integration, and documentation. ReleaseGuard converts those signals into a single release-readiness view with a transparent score, category-level status, release blockers, warnings, file-level evidence, risks, and a prioritized remediation plan. The core experience is intentionally evidence-first. Instead of simply saying that a problem exists, ReleaseGuard connects findings to the affected repository file and relevant evidence so developers can understand why a release is blocked and what should be addressed. The project uses ShopSphere, a controlled self-created repository, as its demonstration baseline containing realistic release issues such as configuration gaps, a failing authentication test, debug logging, dependency maintenance concerns, documentation gaps, and frontend/backend integration mismatches. IBM Bob is an important part of the workflow rather than merely a mention in the interface. ReleaseGuard identifies the release blocker, the developer uses IBM Bob to inspect the repository and perform focused remediation, and the result is validated again. This creates the central Before → Bob analysis/remediation → Validation → After workflow. The target users are software developers, QA engineers, release engineers, DevOps teams, and technical leads who need a fast, structured way to evaluate release readiness. What makes ReleaseGuard distinctive is the closed-loop workflow: repository evidence → release decision → actionable remediation → validation → before/after comparison, rather than stopping at a static checklist or generic AI explanation.
