Codesage

The Problem Engineering teams ship code that looks fine in review but fails catastrophically in production — a hardcoded API key becomes a data breach, an off-by-one loop crashes a payment service, an accidental assignment silently corrupts data for weeks. Linters catch style violations. AI assistants generate code confidently but never audit it. Manual review is slow, inconsistent, and misses context-dependent bugs entirely. No existing tool reliably answers the most critical pre-deployment question: will this code actually run without crashing? The Solution CodeSage is an AI-powered code review platform that answers that question in under 2 seconds. It runs a dual-engine pipeline: a 15-rule static regex engine catches known vulnerability signatures (hardcoded secrets, eval(), SQL injection, XSS, infinite loops, off-by-one errors) while Google Gemini performs deep semantic analysis of execution flow and runtime behavior. Results are merged, deduplicated, and scored. The standout feature is executionWillFail detection — when code is guaranteed to crash, the score is hard-capped at 40/100. Broken code cannot receive a passing grade. A fatal error banner surfaces immediately, and a complete corrected version of the code is delivered instantly. Who It's For Individual developers wanting a fast second opinion, junior engineers who need explained feedback, and hackathon teams who move fast and need automated safety rails. What Makes It Unique Unlike linters (too shallow) or AI generators (never self-critical), CodeSage fuses deterministic rules with structured AI reasoning — each catching what the other misses. Private Mode enables zero-retention analysis: one toggle, and code is analyzed in volatile memory with no database writes. An LRU cache returns repeat reviews in under 50ms. Per-user Firebase history tracks improvement over time. Built with React 19, Node.js, Google Gemini, Firebase, and Three.js WebGL for a retro-futuristic developer experience that's as precise as the tool itself.
