RepoReady is a developer onboarding and codebase-readiness assistant designed to reduce the time and effort required to understand an unfamiliar project. When a developer joins an existing project, they often need to manually explore the folder structure, find documentation, identify dependencies, locate tests, and search for unfinished development work before making their first change. RepoReady turns this initial exploration into a structured, actionable workflow. The developer uploads a project ZIP, and RepoReady performs a deterministic analysis of the repository. It identifies the project type, structure, documentation, dependency manifests, test files, TODO/FIXME items, and other development signals. These findings are converted into a readiness report with a score, strengths, concerns, and prioritized "Start Here" actions. RepoReady then integrates with IBM Bob through MCP. IBM Bob can access the structured RepoReady analysis, investigate the findings using the actual codebase, make appropriate changes, and verify the result by running RepoReady again. The workflow is: Upload Repository → Analyze → Identify Issues → IBM Bob Investigates → Implement → Re-analyze A key design choice is that RepoReady's analysis layer does not pretend to be an AI model. It provides deterministic, evidence-based repository information, while IBM Bob provides the AI-assisted reasoning and development workflow. This creates a practical bridge between repository understanding and AI-assisted software development, helping developers move from "I don't know this codebase" to a clearer, actionable starting point.
