DevSync – Collaboration Guardian is an AI-powered developer collaboration layer that helps teams identify potential conflicts while developers are actively working on the same codebase. DevSync monitors developer activity, branches, files, code ranges, and changes to identify overlapping or related work. It first uses deterministic analysis to detect suspicious interactions and then leverages IBM Bob 2.0 to understand the semantic relationship between changes, affected functions, dependencies, and business logic. When a potential conflict is detected, DevSync provides a clear warning explaining who is changing what, why the changes may interfere, and which area of the code is affected. Developers can inspect the changes directly in VS Code and coordinate before the work reaches the merge stage. Unlike traditional Git conflict detection, which primarily identifies conflicts when changes are merged, DevSync aims to identify potential collaboration and semantic conflicts earlier—while developers are still working. DevSync doesn't decide which developer is right or block developers by default. It provides awareness and context so developers can make the coordination decision themselves. IBM Bob 2.0 acts as the intelligence layer, using Agent mode, project context, skills, and focused subagents to analyze complex relationships between concurrent changes.
