ShipSafe: AI Pre-Release & Security Gatekeeper

The Problem Software release day is manual, fragmented, and stressful. Developers spend 45–60 minutes cross-checking directories for missing unit tests, incomplete documentation, and accidental credential leaks. Because checks are manual, hardcoded API keys and untested code frequently slip into production unnoticed. The Solution ShipSafe is an AI-assisted pre-release gatekeeper built with IBM Bob. A developer uploads a project ZIP, and in under 0.05 seconds, ShipSafe: Audits Repository Anatomy: Analyzes file structures, tech stack, and entry points. Hunts Secrets: Intercepts exposed API keys, database credentials, and committed .env files with safe token masking. Calculates a 4-Pillar Score (0–100): Grades Documentation, Testing, Security Hygiene, and Maintainability. Generates Instant Fixes: Delivers drop-in pytest test scaffolds, secure os.getenv() credential refactors, .gitignore templates, and starter READMEs. Exports Release Artifacts: Generates production-ready RELEASE_NOTES.md and PR checklists with 1 click. Target Users Solo developers, small engineering teams, open-source maintainers, and fast-paced startups who need pre-flight release assurance without complex enterprise tooling. Why It’s Unique & Impactful Unlike traditional scanners that only flag errors, ShipSafe provides instant generative remediation—delivering the exact code snippets needed to resolve blockers on the spot. Powered by IBM Bob, ShipSafe slashes release prep time from ~45 minutes down to seconds (a 98% time reduction), empowering developers to turn ideas into impact faster.
