Roomie

Roomie is a unified identity, trust, and billing ecosystem designed specifically for the off-campus student housing market in Nigeria. Rather than simply matching roommates and leaving them to navigate the complexities of co-living alone, Roomie guides students through the entire rental lifecycle. The platform leverages an interactive compatibility engine to match students based on budget and lifestyle metrics like sleep schedules, cleanliness habits, and noise tolerance. Once matched, roommates co-sign a formal, consent-based Roommate Agreement and gain access to a catalog of verified local hostels to protect against rental scammers. After moving in, Roomie automates expense coordination through a built-in shared ledger that splits bills (such as utilities and rent) equally or by custom ratios, allowing direct payments through Paystack. By standardizing student tenant credibility with verification badges and mapping rental connection histories, Roomie establishes a secure, transparent trust protocol connecting student renters, hostel managers, and external real estate platforms.
