Growing up with no restrictions in a household full of them, I became keenly aware of how the people around me were affected by dining experiences that were ruined, and yet not their fault. I've had to watch my mother time and time again order a simple salad, or collection of sides, to make up for the fact that the restaurant was unable to provide for her appropriately. This is a crucial part of planning that could be overlooked in large groups, such as business, birthday, or party dinners, where it's hard to pay attention to individuals. In order to make a more tailored dining planning experience for these kinds of groups, I created GroupEats, which locates your restaurant preferences and scores them based on who in your party can eat there. By defining your party and location through either a quick start option or the manual mode, you will be able to find a curated list of restaurants around you with scores based on how well they feed the total party. My goal with this project is to make the family dinner more streamlined and well planned, or allow larger event organizers to step on less eggshells by using a tool that simplifies this work for them.
