KopTrades is an autonomous options trading agent that traded SPY and QQQ verticals on Alpaca's paper environment across four sessions, starting from a fresh $100,000 account and finishing at $103,258.26, up 3.26%. The governing rule is that the deterministic layer defines the risk envelope and the model chooses inside it. A council agent researches the market through a read-only MCP toolset and proposes a trade. A critic agent reviews it on a narrow brief: self-contradictory reasoning, impossible economics, or legs that do not implement the structure claimed. Both run on Kimi K2 Instruct, served by Featherless. Everything that survives routes through a deterministic risk gate, which resolves every contract against the live chain, recomputes the economics independently, and may approve, reduce or deny the proposal but never increase it. Exits never involve the model at all, and there is exactly one write path to the broker that the model cannot reach. That envelope did real work. Across four sessions the council was woken 212 times and produced 18 proposals; the critic vetoed 10, the gate denied 2, and every entry it approved was cut, from requests of 100 and 200 contracts down to 23 through 29. Every position is a defined-risk vertical with its maximum loss computed before entry, under a hard equity floor enforced before the fact rather than as a stop-loss after it. Strategies are data, not code: each is a YAML file the registry loads at startup, which let both premium-selling strategies be retired mid-competition once the logs showed they had no measurable edge. The agent ran unattended throughout, scheduling itself in-process with no cron and no human trigger, and promoting itself out of shadow mode into live trading each morning only after a probe order confirmed the broker accepted its multi-leg format.
