Problem Software debugging is often slow and repetitive. Developers must understand unfamiliar repositories, identify the actual source of a bug, determine affected files, design a safe fix, write regression tests, and verify the solution. This becomes especially challenging in large or unfamiliar codebases, where a simple bug report can require significant manual investigation. Solution Pitchproof is an AI Software Debugging Agent that transforms a natural-language bug report into a structured, reviewable debugging workflow. The user provides a bug report and a local code repository. Pitchproof analyzes the repository and processes the problem through six stages: Repository Analysis → Root Cause → Fix Plan → Code Fix → Test Generation → Verification The agent identifies relevant files and code evidence, determines the likely root cause, creates a structured fix plan, generates a proposed code patch, creates regression tests, and produces a verification report with confidence information. Proposed code changes are presented for developer review rather than being automatically applied. Generated tests are clearly marked when they have not been executed. This makes the workflow safer and more transparent. Target Users Pitchproof is designed for software developers, students, development teams, and anyone working with unfamiliar or complex codebases who wants to reduce the time spent on repetitive debugging tasks. User Experience Users interact with Pitchproof through a simple Streamlit interface. They enter a bug description and provide the repository path, then receive a visual breakdown of the debugging process, including the root cause, affected files, proposed fix, generated tests, and verification report. What Makes It Unique Instead of being only a code-generation assistant, Pitchproof focuses on the complete debugging lifecycle. Its key feature is the traceable chain from bug report → evidence → root cause → proposed fix → tests → verification. The system also emphasizes safety by avoiding code execution, shell execution, automatic patch application, and exposure of secrets. Impact Pitchproof reduces the manual effort involved in debugging by bringing investigation, fix planning, test generation, and verification into one workflow. It helps developers move from a confusing bug report toward a clear, reviewable, and testable solution more efficiently.
