AI app: Onboarding AI assistant for IBM Bob 2.0 hackathon

Onboarding AI assistant

Created by team HydraFORGE on September 27, 2026

**DevOnboard AI** is an agentic AI-powered developer onboarding assistant that helps new developers understand and start working on an unfamiliar software project faster. The platform uses specialized AI agents for onboarding guidance, documentation discovery, codebase understanding, project setup, and troubleshooting. An intelligent router identifies the user's intent and directs each question to the appropriate agent. The system then uses project knowledge, onboarding tasks, and relevant documentation to generate contextual answers with sources and actionable next steps. Key capabilities include personalized onboarding tasks, progress tracking, AI-powered project and documentation guidance, setup assistance, troubleshooting support, knowledge retrieval, and a local fallback assistant that keeps the prototype functional without an external AI API. IBM Bob 2.0 was used as the AI development partner for planning, coding, testing, code review, and project documentation, while GitHub provides version control and collaboration. The goal of DevOnboard AI is to reduce onboarding time, eliminate confusion around unfamiliar repositories, and help developers move from joining a project to making their first contribution more efficiently.

An AI agent that writes and runs real code in throwaway gVisor sandboxes on Vultr: no network, no secrets, hard caps, destroyed after each run. Every run ends with a signed containment receipt proving what the code could and couldn't touch.

SLATE: Receipts for Every Agent Action

SLATE is a browser agent that works inside a throwaway microVM on Vultr. Every step is checked by a second model, hash-chained and signed with Ed25519, and a person approves the final action. If it is not on the slate, it did not happen.

Run an untrusted npm/PyPI package, GitHub repo, or URL in a sealed, disposable Vultr sandbox. Watch what it does and get a verdict based on its actual behaviour. Every escape attempt is contained and recorded.

Containment Foreman - sandboxed agent runtime

A human-gated foreman that plans AI agent tasks, dispatches each step to a disposable, network-less Docker sandbox, and returns verifiable receipts with SHA-256 artifacts, resource caps and zero host access.
