Enterprise release qualification is broken. Engineering leads and security reviewers spend 24 to 72 hours per sprint manually cross-referencing dense, unstructured specification documents (architecture RFCs, OWASP ASVS rules, API contracts) against rapidly changing codebases and dependency manifests. Standard single-context AI coding assistants fail at this task: loading entire code repositories alongside multi-page compliance specifications saturates the context window, causing context poisoning, hallucinated rules, and dropped constraints. To solve this, we built the Autonomous Release Readiness and Governance Engine (RRE) using IBM Bob 2.0. RRE transforms manual qualification into a deterministic, auditable multi-agent workflow: Spec Ingestion & Human Gating: In Plan Mode, Bob ingests architecture RFCs (Markdown/Docling) to extract API contracts, database rules, and dependency policies into a persisted plan (plans/release-readiness-plan.md). A mandatory human approval gate pauses execution until an engineer signs off. Parallel Subagent Swarm: Once approved, Bob launches four parallel subagents in isolated context windows:arch-auditor: audits database models for SQL injection and schema drift (R1). supply-sentinel: audits dependencies for CVSS > 7.0 CVEs and provenance, generating a CycloneDX-lite SBOM (sbom/bom.json) (R4, R10). contract-guard: checks FastAPI route handlers against Pydantic schema validation contracts (R2). secrets-sentinel: performs whole-repo pattern and Shannon-entropy scanning to prevent hardcoded credentials (R9). Actor-Critic Remediation Loop: When high-priority non-conformances are detected, an Actor proposes minimal corrective diffs. An independent Critic subagent—isolated via fork_context: false with zero access to the Actor's reasoning history—evaluates the patch strictly against .bob/rules/security.md and executes targeted tests. Standardized Compliance Artifacts: RRE outputs an OASIS SARIF 2.1.0 report (security/audit-results.sarif) with 100% remediated status, human-readable RELEASE_NOTES.md, and computes a transparent, arithmetic Release Confidence Score (100/100). Target Users & Interaction: Engineers, security leads, and CI/CD pipelines. Developers interact via Bob IDE slash commands (/release-readiness-audit) for interactive review, while CI runners invoke Bob Shell (bob run) where unresolved high-severity findings or regressions trigger a non-zero exit gate. Creative & Unique Strengths: Unlike typical code assistants that suffer from confirmation bias, RRE enforces strict Actor-Critic isolation (fork_context: false), verified through trap testing where the Critic independently rejects flawed reasoning. All supporting governance tools (secrets_sentinel.py, generate_sbom.py, confidence_score.py) use the Python standard library only, ensuring deterministic, zero-dependency release gating.
