PatchSentinel: Autonomous DevSecOps Agent

### Problem Modern DevSecOps is paralyzed by alert fatigue and remediation friction. Traditional Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools generate hundreds of context-free warnings with high false-positive rates. When a critical vulnerability is flagged—such as command injection, unparameterized SQL, or insecure file uploads—developers receive abstract references (e.g., "CWE-78") without proof of exploitability. Remediating these issues requires manual vulnerability research, context switching, and writing complex sanitization boilerplate, stretching Mean Time to Remediate (MTTR) across days and slowing deployment velocity. ### Solution PatchSentinel is an autonomous DevSecOps and adversary remediation agent built with IBM Bob 2.0 that bridges the gap between vulnerability detection and instant, verified remediation. Targeted at software engineers, security teams, and platform engineers, PatchSentinel operates through a unified triage pipeline: 1. AST-Based Static Taint Tracking: Parses the Python Abstract Syntax Tree to trace tainted input sources into dangerous execution sinks without relying on fragile regex matching. 2. Autonomous Adversary Simulation: An automated subagent calculates CVSS v3.1 base scores, maps CWE definitions, and constructs actionable Proof-of-Concept (PoC) exploit payloads (e.g., ping -c 1; whoami) to prove real-world exploitability to developers. 3. Deterministic Auto-Remediation (--fix): Synthesizes non-destructive, bracket-depth-aware AST patches. It transforms unsafe string concatenations into parameterized DB-API calls, injects secure_filename() file-upload guards, and isolates hardcoded secrets into os.getenv calls while synchronizing .env.example. 4. Shift-Left Enforcement: Features a one-command pre-commit hook installer (python3 main.py --install-hook) that blocks commits at localhost before code reaches remote repositories. 5. CI/CD Native Telemetry: Seamlessly outputs SARIF v2.1.0 telemetry into GitHub Actions, directly populating GitHub Security tabs and PR annotations. ### Why It Is Unique Unlike conventional scanners that simply report problems and stop, PatchSentinel operates as an end-to-end security copilot. It provides concrete attacker proof-of-concepts, displays side-by-side visual AST unified diffs, and writes verified, syntax-validated code patches directly to disk with a single click.
