I built Taygos818’s Alpaca Hackathon Bot as an autonomous, multi-agent options trading system designed to find and act on short-term market opportunities in Alpaca’s paper trading environment. The bot dynamically discovers candidates instead of relying on a fixed ticker list, gathers market and catalyst data from Alpaca and external sources, and asks independent AI agents to evaluate each opportunity from different perspectives. Their findings are converted into structured proposals, while deterministic risk controls retain final veto authority over position sizing, exposure, liquidity, duplicate orders, and options eligibility. Approved opportunities are translated into defined-risk options strategies and submitted through Alpaca’s trading infrastructure. The bot continuously reconciles pending orders, fills, partial fills, positions, profit and loss, holding time, and strategy-owned exits. It can autonomously close positions based on profit targets, loss limits, expiration risk, or time-based rules. A read-only dashboard provides a live heartbeat, searchable decision traces, risk rejections, order activity, positions, exits, and evidence provenance. Every decision—including the choice to abstain—is recorded so the complete path from discovery through analysis, risk review, execution, and exit can be inspected and explained.
