OORJA AI

AI is growing faster than almost any technology in history, and so is its energy footprint. Data centers that power AI models consume enormous amounts of electricity, and nearly all of that electricity ends up as heat. Most of this heat is simply vented into the air and wasted. At the same time, villages and small towns near these facilities often face unreliable electricity, expensive heating, and limited access to energy for farming or daily life. Sometimes the energy they need is sitting just a few kilometers away, being thrown out. OORJA AI was built to close that gap. The app lets you search for an AI data center and view its profile: capacity, cooling type, utilization, and renewable energy share. From there, it calculates how much energy could realistically be recovered each month, primarily usable heat, with a small optional amount of electricity from heat-to-power conversion. Every estimate is shown as a Low, Base, and High range, since real-world data varies and no number here is presented with false precision. OORJA AI then looks outward. It identifies nearby villages and towns, ranks them with a transparent match score based on distance, population, and energy need, and suggests how the recovered energy could realistically be used, whether that's space heating, greenhouse warming, crop drying, aquaculture, or electricity. An Explore Map shows every data center in the dataset at once, color-coded by cooling type, while each detail page also shows how far it sits from every other site, so patterns across regions become visible at a glance. An impact panel then translates the numbers into something tangible: households served and tonnes of CO₂ avoided each month. Honesty sits at the center of the design. OORJA AI never claims a data center "produces" electricity, since data centers consume power and heat is simply a byproduct. Every data point carries a clear badge, Reported, Estimated, or Dummy, so nothing is mistaken for more certain than it is.
