Problem: Manual incident resolution and DevSecOps setups are painfully slow and prone to human error. When a runtime exception occurs in an enterprise Spring Boot application, developers waste hours analyzing terminal logs, writing fixes, creating mocked unit tests, and manually configuring security pipelines (SAST/SCA) before they can even open a Pull Request. Solution: We engineered BinaryBob, an autonomous Enterprise DevSecOps Agent utilizing IBM Bob's /init command, modular personas (agent.md), and automated skills (skills.md). By injecting dynamic @terminal context, BinaryBob achieves Universal Error Resolution—it autonomously parses live logs to patch any Spring Boot exception and generates fully isolated JUnit 5 tests. Once the developer approves the fix (Human-in-the-Loop validation), BinaryBob automatically injects SLF4J audit logs, bootstraps a GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline integrated with SAST & SCA (CodeQL), and executes local terminal commands (gh pr create) to autonomously push and open a Pull Request. Target Users: Enterprise Java developers, DevSecOps engineers, QA automation teams, and Tech Leads managing complex codebases. How Users Interact: The workflow utilizes zero-touch context injection. When an app crashes, developers simply type @terminal in the Bob Chat to feed the live logs to the agent. The only manual interactions are running the generated tests to ensure they pass (the Gatekeeper phase) and pasting a single prompt to authorize the agent to execute the CI/CD and Git Pull Request automation. Creative and Unique: We moved beyond treating AI as a passive chat assistant. By enforcing custom .bob environment rules and leveraging Bob Shell's local terminal execution capabilities, BinaryBob acts as an active DevSecOps engineer. It bridges the gap between code generation and infrastructure automation, transforming the IDE into a self-driving resolution pipeline. Effectiveness and Efficiency: BinaryBob reduces the bug-to-PR lifecycle from hours to exactly 2.5 minutes. It guarantees high test coverage for new fixes, ensures CI/CD security compliance by default, and eliminates repetitive Git manual labor. For future scalability, our architecture is ready to integrate DAST on staging environments and utilize the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for real-time Datadog/Jira observability.
