BugFix Agent

### Problem Debugging software can be time-consuming, especially when developers have to manually locate the source of an error, understand its root cause, implement a fix, and then check whether the fix actually works. For beginners, understanding why a bug occurs can be even more difficult. ### Solution BugFix Agent is an AI-powered coding assistant designed to streamline the debugging process. It analyzes a code repository or selected source code, identifies potential bugs, explains the likely root cause, and suggests an appropriate fix. The system can then help generate regression tests for the identified issue and verify the proposed solution by running the available tests. The workflow follows a simple pipeline: **Bug → Diagnose → Fix → Test → Verify** ### Target Users The project is designed for students, beginner programmers, developers, and software teams who want assistance with understanding and resolving coding errors. ### How It Works A user provides a codebase or repository to the system. BugFix Agent analyzes the relevant files and error information, reasons about the possible cause of the problem, and produces an explanation and proposed correction. After the correction, the system can generate or update tests designed to prevent the same bug from returning. The tests are then used to verify whether the solution behaves as expected. ### What Makes It Unique Rather than stopping at generating a suggested code change, BugFix Agent focuses on the complete debugging workflow. It combines diagnosis, fixing, regression testing, and verification into one process, making the debugging cycle more structured and easier to understand. The goal is not simply to produce code, but to provide developers with a repeatable workflow for understanding bugs and validating fixes.
