GainWell

GainWell is an AI-powered meal planner purpose-built for people who want to gain weight healthily whether their goal is lean muscle, strength building, or an aggressive mass bulk. Unlike generic nutrition apps that focus on weight loss, GainWell tailors every meal to the individual's unique profile through a 6-step onboarding flow. Users set their calorie target, macro split, allergies, cuisine country, weekly budget, and available fridge ingredients. The app then calls a Supabase Edge Function that queries the Spoonacular API for recipe candidates and passes them to OpenAI's GPT-4o mini, which intelligently selects 42 meals (6 per day × 7 days) and explains why each one supports the user's weight gain goals. A smart fallback system with 50+ curated global recipes ensures the plan never fails even when Spoonacular returns few results. The dashboard displays a scrollable week strip, daily timeline with expandable meal cards, nutrition progress tracking, and daily compound exercise recommendations, all built with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS v4. Supabase Secret Manager keeps API keys secure no secrets ever reach the client.
